You will use your expertise to:
* Assurance and advice related to ongoing shipping activities (geotech,
dredging, material transport, module logistics).
* Marine Traffic Coordinator and AIS monitoring and support.
* Support to construction team importing heavy lift equipment through the
Marine Offloading Facility on transport vessels.
* Support the Early Works Construction Team with contractor HSSE,
facilitation and performance of marine operations and interfaces.
* Attendance at full mission simulation for vessel maneuvering and berthing
including transit in Douglas Channel.
* Advice to team for detailed design review, operational procedures, due
diligence and pre-start up audits and operations reviews.
* Assist in implementation of port operating rules and port information book
* Arranging Ship/shore compatibility studies for LNG carriers and terminal.
* Arranging for mooring analyses of alongside moorings.
* Attend Marine and HSE audits, contractor assessments, vessel
inspections, reviews, risk assessments and incident investigations for
marine activities.3
* Provision of operational advice and support on specific activities relating to
port operations and marine services.
* Assist in developing marine operational standards ensuring that all marine
related activities are covered by fit for purpose processes and procedures,
consistent with the Maritime Process Model.
* Participate in LNG Canada Emergency Response Team.
* Participate in HAZIDs/HAZOPs for operations with a marine aspect.
* Participate in preparation of terminal HSE Case.
To be successful, you will have:
* Minimum of Class 1or 2 (Deck) Certificate of Competency and/or
relevant/equivalent degree in Nautical Science
* 10 years progressive leadership experience in ship operations and
management.
* Senior Officer experience on LNG carriers and/or oil tankers would be
preferable
* Strong project management skills, ability to priorities and manage many
activities at the same time
* Extensive knowledge and experience of marine activities, including port
and terminal operations, such as a Marine Technical Advisor or a Terminal
Berthing Master.
* High technical and management capabilities in Gas and/or Oil marine
operations with leadership, inter-personal and organizational skills.
* Excellent inter- personal skills to network effectively across internal and
external business interfaces and with staff of different disciplines and
seniority levels.
* Team player with the necessary communication (oral and written) skills to
interface with other disciplines and external parties in a remote team.
* Ability to resolve and provide clear, fit for purpose solutions in line with
Group and Industry guidelines and practices.
* Experience understanding contractual agreements with 3rd parties
* Demonstrate behaviors promoting an environment of trust, shared
ownership and world class delivery.
