Jr Accountant (Based in Mexico City, Mexico) / Mexico

Function description

Under the direction and supervision of the Mexico Financial Accounting Supervisor, and working closely with the U.S. and Mexico accounting teams, the Mexico City Junior Accountant’s duties will include the following:

Perform and assist with various month-end accounting activities
Perform monthly VAT accounting entries and reconcile to monthly tax declarations
Perform initial review of invoices for compliance with company policies, contracts and tax regulations
Assist the Senior Operations Accountant with the Cost Recovery reporting process
Assist the Senior Operations Accountant with the timely invoicing of Joint Venture Costs to the Consortium Partners
Maintain local accounting records utilizing the group’s Mexico accounting software
Assist the Mexico accounting team with the VAT refund process
Assist with the periodic partner or regulatory audits as well as the annual financial audit
