Laboratory Assistant

12+ month contract (Temp to Hire)

Location: Fremont, CA

Hourly Rate: $30-35/hr


The client have an immediate opening for a Laboratory Assistant in Fremont, CA. The primary function of this role will be to manage laboratory and facility maintenance activities. Secondarily, this role will provide support to our prototype production line. The successful candidate will bring an ability and wiliness to manage a wide range of task, sound laboratory fundamentals, and effective communication skills. Position reports to the Director of Manufacturing.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):


Laboratory and Facility Maintenance

Managing chemical and lab consumable inventories
Receiving of shipments and internal distribution
Routine inspections of safety equipment
Hazardous waste inspections and coordinating pickups
Facilitating lab cleanup and organization activities
Maintaining organization of small warehouse space


Production Support

Vialing, filling and labeling of reagent solutions
Performing inspections of parts and finished assemblies
Assembly of cartridge consumables
Recoding of production data to batch records/travelers/databases


QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working in laboratory environment
Associate's degree or greater preferred, with no less than 2 years of industry related experience
Effective utility player with ability & willingness to quickly learn new skills and techniques
Experience with general laboratory tools & techniques (pipettes, balances, pH/conductivity meters, microscopes, UOM conversions, fume hood use, safe handling of hazardous chemicals, etc.)
Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail on work
Ability to accurately and consistently document production data
Good communications skills, written & verbal (English)
