The valued client is seeking 3 Unit Operators near Fort McMurray for a 1 year contract. This is a fly in, fly out position, working a 7 on/7 off rotation.
Position Summary
Our client is currently seeking a contract Operator to assist with day-to-day operation of the facility. This role controls the plant daily operations and is responsible to ensure it is run in a safe, efficient manner while maintaining the necessary production requirements. The Plant operator will follow an area rotation in which identified competencies in all areas will be met in a desired time frame.

Position Summary
Our client is currently seeking a contract Operator to assist with day-to-day operation of the facility. This role controls the plant daily operations and is responsible to ensure it is run in a safe, efficient manner while maintaining the necessary production requirements. The Plant operator will follow an area rotation in which identified competencies in all areas will be met in a desired time frame.
Core Responsibilities
- Shutdown and prepare equipment for maintenance/start-up equipment following comapny COHE (lock out/tag out)
- Operate the Plant in a safe and effective manner, while working collaboratively as part of the operating team
- Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per company guidelines
- Perform condition monitoring including sampling and testing per area responsibilities.
- Complete area operations records. (ie: reading sheets, work permits and required reports)
- Support operations performed maintenance activities aligned to the site’s operating philosophy
- Support on-site maintenance contractors by communicating company requirements, policies and procedures, while leading by example
- Participate in the development and review of Safe Operating Procedures
- Follow safe operating and chemical handling procedures and ensure environmental impact is minimized
- Participate in the site Health and Safety Program, Report all near misses and incidents
- Participate in incident investigations as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering Certification (ABSA), 2nd Class preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years Oil and Gas or industry experience, preferably SAGD
- Artificial Lift ESP Production Experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Work, Excel, Outlook Email
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong understanding and/or expertise regarding operating equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a Team environment
- Ability to work without constant supervision
- Class 5 Drivers License
- H2S Alive
- First Aid Certification
