We are seeking Project Commercial Manager
Strong experience in Business Systems is needed for the Environment Department with the following skills:
One of the first things a commercial project manager does is define the goals of the project. She develops drafts that outline the specific objectives expected from a project. Project managers may also map out the different teams that will be involved during the project, with a charter that defines the responsibilities and duties of each. Defining the goals of a project is a significant step, as it helps coordinate the activities thereafter.
Planning a Project
Commercial project managers are responsible for developing the plan for a project. This may involve brainstorming sessions with heads of departments to get a clearer picture of what the project can achieve. To communicate their plans more effectively, project managers may adopt visual charts or network diagrams that define the different elements required for a project. Each element is assigned a timeline. The network diagram also shows how the different tasks are connected and dependent upon each other.
Ensuring Milestones are Met
Another major responsibility of a commercial project manager is ensuring that the team achieves the project's deliverable without unnecessary delays. To do this, commercial project managers work closely with the different departments to make sure no setbacks or difficulties arise. Project managers may sometimes break a complex process into multiple milestones. Doing this gives them an effective way of evaluating the pace of the project.
Monitoring and Providing Direction
Serving in an overseeing position allows project managers to monitor and direct the scope of a project. Commercial project managers are able to identify which tasks are worthy of high priority. This way, one task does not hold up the rest of the tasks. Project managers also balance the needs of the different tasks against the available resources and the project deadline.
Coordinating Efforts with Administration
While commercial project managers do not directly control or supervise the accounting, they work close with the marketing, ac counting and sales departments. Their responsibilities may involve analyzing prepared budgets, making suggestions on cost-cutting methods and sending periodic status reports.
Reallocating Resources
Commercial project managers may sometimes reallocate a project's available resources to boost efficiency and cut costs. They look for the most effective approach to getting the needed results using the resources available. For instance, if a computer program can complete a process 10 people can complete manually, project managers may consider automating the task. This way, the rest of the team can focus on a different task to improve productivity.
