Contract: Development Engineer (Onshore / Offshore Projects) / Australia

The client , Woodside are seeking experienced Onshore/ Offshore Development Engineers to support our onshore / offshore projects teams.

The right candidates will have an oil and gas background in developments / projects.

The onshore / offshore projects teams delivers brownfields developments for our existing assets.  Each role will look after a number of smaller individual developments progressing them from Assess Phase through to BoD, delivered on a priority basis.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Defining and achieving required assurance on deliverables needed to meet development objectives
• Planning, defining and managing external contractor work scopes, including managing interfaces between contractors and internal supporting disciplines
• Facilitate / prepare for multi-discipline gate reviews / obtain decision-gate approvals at end of phase
• Develop opportunity business cases / complete close out work when no business case is proven
• Support and coach more junior team members (seniority dependent)

Skills & Experience:

• Suitable industry experience (seniority dependent) – oil and gas experience preferred
• Front end development experience preferred
• Facility engineering experience preferred
• Commercial acumen / good understanding of NPV and economic analysis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to integrate multi-discipline inputs (contractor and company) to arrive at high quality decisions for business cases and concept selection
• Able to identify and assess opportunity risk
• Good understanding of Australian and International Design Codes and Engineering Standards; and Statutory Regulations and Approvals
