ROLE SYNOPSIS

Ensure the management of all prevention activities in terms of industrial safety and environmental protection. Work within the framework of the partnership between two companies of different cultures. Encourage staff to respect hygiene and safety rules. Prevent incidents and damage to staff, health and the environment. Onsite management of staff from various backgrounds. Ensure permanent availability day and night.


MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•             Lead and supervise accident and incident prevention activities.

•             Conduct health, safety and environmental audits.

•             Conduct the various stages of risk management (identification, risk  assessment and control) related to activities in the field.

•             Provide advice and assist other structures in the field of safety and environmental protection.

•             Participate and contribute to various technical or other studies in the field.

•             Develop a work plan to improve the different aspects of onsite medical services in collaboration with the doctor.

•             Collaborate in the development and updating of security procedures.

•             Develop and update the various site plans (POI, ORSEC, P.A.M, Fire Plan, evacuation plan, attack plan)

•             Supervise and coordinate response operations in case of triggering of the POI or other.

•             Develop and monitor the monthly and annual work plans of other structures.

•             Control the work permit system by ensuring that organisational procedures are followed and respected.

•             Conduct periodic safety meetings for staff.

•             Develop and follow the specialized training program for staff in the HSE department and other structures. 

•             Ensure compliance with the rule of hygiene and safety.


INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL INTERFACES

Requirement to maintain close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding and cooperation towards promoting interests and achieving results. This includes but is not limited to working closely with managers and team members of all departments within as well as local authorities as required.


CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

Monthly rotational assignment 28/28. Will be based on site (Algeria). Missions and meetings in Algiers/London may also be required.


REQUIRED COMPETENCES/ QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / PROFILE

Education:          

Degree (Bac+5) – Relevant disciplines in HSE and/or engineering, operations.

Experience:

•             In-depth knowledge of the petroleum industry, production facilities in particular (excellent HSE development opportunity for experienced production professional with strong HSE affinity)

•             Experience working in JV environment is a plus

•             Experience in working in the North Africa region is a plus

•             Experience in implementing change outside sphere of influence

•             Experience in developing and coaching team members

Languages:        

Fluency in English is required, and French is preferred, Arabic is a plus

•             Implements the consequence management procedure for direct reports if appropriate.
