This will be a Brisbane based role with some site-based work required within Queensland. This role is a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension.

Job Requirements:
  • Responsible for Cultural Heritage management and related stakeholder engagement required for projects, exploration, operations and new ventures
  • Assisting and developing strategies which support the management and mitigation of issues, opportunities and risks, or addressing contractual commitments
  • Safely and efficiently deliver Cultural Heritage commitments as defined within the Cultural Heritage Management Strategies and Plans and related requirements within the Indigenous Land Use Agreements
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant company policies, lender requirements and national/state legislation
  • Develop and maintain relevant procedures and systems; and review CH Agreements as required
  • Maintain highly effective stakeholder relations for Cultural Heritage delivery, including Traditional Owners, Services Providers, Government departments and internal business partners
  • Report on Cultural Heritage including SP plan outcomes; compliance, schedule, costs, stakeholder and risk management
About You:
  • Degree qualified practitioner in archaeology or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience implementing field work programmes across a variety of locations with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of cultural heritage regulatory frameworks and Native Title legislation
  • Track record of meeting both statutory compliance and practical heritage management strategies while maintaining positive engagement with Aboriginal communities
  • Working with land access issues, e.g., ability to interpret maps, understand tenure descriptions is mandatory
  • Experience in the use of GIS/GPS data management equipment and software
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels and capacity and manage conflict
