Role: Control of Work Coaching Advisor

A member of the HSE Control of Work Team, performing the role as an Advisor & Mentor to the CoW Coaches across all Facilities.
Reporting to the CoW Team Leader with the day-to-day responsibility for coaching and mentoring the national CoW coaches across all sites.
Key Accountabilities:
? Coaching, mentoring and advising the CoW Coaches to improve their understanding of CoW principles and good practice, the CoW procedure and to improve their coaching skills.
? On-boarding, induction and initial training of new CoW coaches.
? Having a comprehensive understanding of CoW principles and good practice and of the CoW Procedure and ensuring this is applied and followed to safely control work onsite.
? Having a comprehensive understanding of the Worksafe CoW Management System and coaching and advising the CoW coaches and the site teams on its effective use.
? Providing advice on good practice on Work Planning, Job/Task Descriptions and on required Hazards and Controls to ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner
? Supports the Control of Work Team by conducting audits and self-verifications on all aspects of the CoW process across all operational facilities
? Responsible for providing additional CoW technical assistance and advice during Turnarounds and Shutdowns in both the planning and execution phases
? Responsible for assisting with CoW Training and CoW Training Module Development
? Deputise for the CoW TL as required
? Conduct regular reviews of CoW related verification activities and provide recommendations to the CoW TL and CoW Authority for interventions
? Shares best practice and drives consistency across the field in the application of CoW standards
? Participates as CoW Specialist in incident investigations when required
Mandatory Requirements:
? Minimum 15 years in Oil & Gas Operations.
? Minimum 10 years in Control of Work in an oil & gas environment to minimum Area Authority level or equivalent.
? Excellent written and English language skills
? Proven capability in training, coaching and mentoring multi-national workforces
? Good IT skills and abilities (Word, Power Point & Excel)
Essential Experience:
? Extensive experience in Oil & Gas Operational and/or HSE disciplines
? Comprehensive knowledge of Permit to Work Systems and CoW Systems
? Comprehensive understanding of the principles of energy isolation
? Comprehensive understand of risk assessment
? Extensive experience in coaching and mentoring in a multi-national, oil & gas environment
? Experience in preparing and delivering CoW Training Sessions
? Good interpersonal skills and behaviours (Safety, Respect, Courage, Excellence, One Team)
? Experience in conducting and assessing CoW Audits
? Effective influencing, communication and engagement skills across a diverse functional organisation.
? Self-motivated.
