Field Service Engineer (BOP) / Singapore

Role Summary:

The Field Service Engineer – Hydraulics position is responsible for safely maintaining and repairing all equipment associated with the Subsea well control system and Riser at Rig level. The Field Service Engineer – Hydraulics will master mechanical, and controls related technology associated with offshore and onshore drilling and production equipment such as the, BOP, Drilling Riser, and surface controls. Customer responsiveness and satisfaction are key drivers to the success to the business and in this role, you will play an integral part in promoting this as the frontline face of the company. Primary responsibility will be to support APAC region including India but required to travel cross- region to support globally

Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible to safely complete all assigned jobs per the detailed planning packages and schedule order
• Provide general technical assistance to the Field Services team in the operation, maintenance, repair, logistic support, and installation of company products
• Assist Field Service Manager in scheduling maintenance & workload, assure that equipment & parts meet established schedules
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspection of equipment consistent with industry requirements / standards / methods
• Provide on-site interpretation of data and technical instruction.
• Responsible to support Service Engineering team with Disposition & repair work scope for equipment’s undergoing re-certification
• Able to understand the design & function of subsea well control equipment’s, support Service Engineering team with review of assembly & test procedures and modify them whenever required
• Responsible to execute unplanned maintenance activities (rig down) as directed by the lead FSE.
• Review reported malfunctions and identify / analyze any undesirable trends & make recommendations on findings

Qualifications/Requirements:  

• Engineering Degree/ High School Diploma / equivalent knowledge or at least  6 years of experience working in an offshore environment in a subsea or field services role
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally on offshore installations on short notice

• Ability and willingness to weekends and holidays, as required
• Ability and willingness to work in a hands-on environment and able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability and willingness to work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
• Hands-on- experience with Well Control BOP equipment

Desired Characteristics:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Capable to read Hydraulic schematics
• Strong clear-thinking abilities and ability to communicate effectively with customers, field service personnel and different functions within the organization
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Proven analytical and quality improvement ability
• Able to interface at all levels of the organization both internally and externally
• Ability to create accurate reports and associated documents
• Strong Well Control System operational background and experience
