Job Title: Interface Engineer
Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland
Contract Length: Multi-year; to be renewed at the end of each year
Summary:
As the Project design and construction moves into a mature state, there is a need to expand the function of project interface coordination into a more global integration role. The Project Interface Coordination function is expanding to include the definition of Care/Custody/Control points and coordination of transfer of asset and sub asset deliverables between the various Project Contractors. Further, the project interface coordination role will assume development and coordination of internal interfaces with existing operating departments to ensure smooth transition and integration of the asset into operations.
There is a potential for this role to transition into sustained operations. While on a smaller scale, each well construction and tie in project will involve interface points between different business unit functional groups. And there will be several well construction and tie in projects per year. Defining and coordinating interface points with clear scope, budget, and schedule will be beneficial when the drilling and well delivery program gets up and running.
Responsibilities:
•Issue Care, Custody, and Control plan and work with the various interface points to develop contractual obligations and associated deliverables. Create interface points as required for CCC activities.
•Ensure all project interfaces are aligned with the Project Master Schedule, and integrated where necessary
•Support the development of information handover plans and coordination of the information handover activities (fabrication dossiers, redlines, software models, databases, project documents, MC and commissioning documents, etc)
•Steward to the Interface Management Procedure and coordinate existing project interfaces
•Steward dispute resolution between project teams, contracts, and operations teams as required
•Support dimensional control validation plans
•Develop and coordinate internal interface points between project teams and existing operations departments
•Support the development of commissioning and handover to operations plans
•Support the development of SIMOPS plans for construction offshore via work sequencing and prioritization workshops, facilitation of SIMOPS risk assessments and development of an approved SIMOPS matrix
•Maintaining up to date project Interface procedures and work instructions.
•Identify and coordinate with the various interface owners within Owners Team and Contractors. Demonstrate leadership of the interface group within the wider project community.
Deliverables:
•Maintain an interface register/database
•Track, monitor and close interface agreements as required
•Update the draft version of the Care Custody and Control Transfer Plan and issue for use
•Interface status reporting as required
•SIMOPS Plan
The role requires:
•knowledge of the wider project community, including all the contractors involved in fabrication and delivery
•knowledge of regulations pertaining to offshore NL
•experience with interface coordination
•knowledge of contract language for the major fabrication/construction scopes (Topsides, CGS, Marine, Subsea)
•understanding of project phase transitions from engineering through construction, commissioning and startup
Qualifications
•Education level: P. Eng. preferred.
•Minimum 10 years of experience in large scale industrial projects
