Location: King’s Mountain, NC
Hours: M-F 40 hours per week—some OT may be required.
Pay Range: $70-$90/hr. based on previous experience.
Duration: 8 months with possibility for extension.

Responsibilities

Accountable, as the Project Construction Manager, for the high level of performance in executing the project contract, leadership, and performance along with the General Contractor associated with the project to maintain a valued and effective working relationship with the client
Evaluate and determine the appropriate construction method and the most cost-effective plan and schedule to meet predetermined deadlines
Assist Contractor in dividing all required construction activities into logical steps to help develop construction schedule
Accountable for the Safety of all contractors, delivery of materials, tools, equipment, and quality of all construction activities
Responsible for making sure that the General Contractor obtains (if needed), all necessary permits and licenses in compliance with building and safety codes and other regulations
Review the performance of all trade contractors and responsible for ensuring that all work is completed on schedule
Use change management system to reduce cost and avoid overruns -Review all change orders before submitting to the Project Manager
With the overall responsibility and oversight for the Admin Building 2nd floor remodel project. Monitor the status of all work activities with the General Contractor and stakeholders; participate in walk downs of upcoming work.
Weekly reporting, including aspects of field/execution, schedule, cost, changes/risks, environmental, 2 week look ahead etc.
Schedule and Lead meetings for Shutdown/Outage planning along with miscellaneous project coordination meetings between Albemarle, and Contractors
Oversight of project cost activities, including forecasting, invoicing review, and recommendations for approval; support the preparation of Albemarle funding requests
Change Management, including, identification, documentation, review of Change Orders, follow up dialogue, alignment with stakeholders, overall claims management
Procurement interface/coordination, with General Contractor on long lead construction materials and the owner’s equipment
Support design review meetings along with helping to define/refine scope. Also drive out any potential construability ideals that may be getting overlooked
Develop and own the Construction Punchlist
Oversight of Project Closeout activities – including but not limited to Project Completion Checklist, Mechanical Completion Checklist

Job Qualifications

Must have at least 10+ years of construction management experience.
Must have commercial project construction management experience in the remodeling of existing buildings and furnishings.
Must have previous experience with writing and understanding work permits.
Previous experience within the chemicals industry would be a big plus.
Candidates local to the Charlotte/Kings Mountain, NC region are highly preferred. No per diem or relocation assistance offered to candidates outside of the region.
