Job Summary
The Materials Production Control Leader will be expected to coordinate and track timely deliveries of orders through the plant. This will include leading production and fulfillment meetings cross functionally. You will also be responsible for recommending and executing process improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiencies; in addition to supporting team development and performance goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and identify gaps in production progress versus the plan from Sales Order release to shipment
- Build, plan, and maintain production and fulfillment files to share cross functionally with production, materials, engineering, quality, etc.
- Report progress, issues, business needs, and recovery plans to maintain schedule and major project milestones
- Understand lead time of services work and provide quote/schedule of sales orders in the ERP system
- Track hours and material cost on work orders versus the budget on major project work
- Lead Buyer/Planner meetings to identify supplier risks and action plan for late deliveries. Work with sourcing to implement action plans with top late suppliers.
- Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory. Look for opportunities to use up slow moving inventory
- Coordinate with purchasing/procurement to resolve any material issues and confirm materials are available for manufacturing as per production schedule
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or high school diploma/GED with at least 5 years of experience in MRP Planning or Materials Management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing Subsea Drilling equipment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office, ERP
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to formulate and communicate sound recommendations
- Demonstrated knowledge of shop operations and planning
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a strong peer group and to drive toward optimal solution
- Strong ability to multi-task and influence others
- Technical certifications such as an APICS certification preferred
