Responsibilities
- Drafting Lead on Revit innovation projects, planning of project drafting work requirements, and provision of advice to drafting staff regarding project set up to ensure project objectives and delivery timelines are met.
- Documentation of structural engineering designs for steel structures for industrial and commercial buildings using Revit for structural drafting.
- Provision of structural drafting documents with high quality, accuracy, and within prescribed timelines, ensuring projects are modeled and delivered most practically and efficiently.
- Liaison with structural engineers on project planning, setup requirement, and project drafting of issues on relevant projects.
- Assist to drafting manager in the ongoing improvement of the standard detail’s library and families of Revit structural objects, including standard drawing templates.
- Checking of work undertaken by the supporting drafting staff on relevant projects and providing feedback for improvement to the drafters.
What we are looking for
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years experience as a structural design drafter at a structural consultancy in Australia, and a minimum of 5 years experience working at a consultancy where Revit was the primary method of CAD documentation, for the types of buildings listed above (essential)
- A thorough working knowledge of Revit including setting up projects, setting up models, and building libraries and templates (essential)
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and other internet functions)
- A strong understanding of building structures, especially in both the presentation and practical application of typical steel structures
- Ability and adaptability to move about different tasks and projects quickly and easily (essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills (essential)
- Good data entry skills and attention to detail
- A strong understanding of Australian standards about industrial engineering projects (essential)
