The valued client is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work in the Burnaby, BC area. This is a Monday-Friday (40 hours/week) schedule, scheduled until December 31, 2022 – possible extension into 2023 depending on project.
Responsibilities:
- Act as representative at subcontractor location.
- Liaise and communicate with staff at subcontractor location, ensuring onsite terms are clear on client expectations.
- Establish relationship with company reps and support company efforts at location, all while respecting that the company owns/manages the delivery of the pipe spools at sub-contractor location.
- Keep oversight of the pipe spool production steps (fabrication – pressure testing/NDE – painting & packaging – loading to Break Bulk ships)
- applicable do spot checks on loading of pipe spools in Break Bulk ships
- Participate in weekly connect call meeting to discuss status / situation at sub-contractor location.
- Format of reports and content to be agreed with project management during first week of the assignment
- Ensure Project reporting accurately reflects the status at location
- Monitor if company and subcontractor can manufacture and produce the pipe-spools per agreed sequence and priorities as defined.
- Monitor and report on available direct workforce available and assigned to company project at the sub-contractor location – as applicable report any shortages of manpower.
- Act as an ambassador for personal safety on location
- Highlight concerns following up on pipe spool delivery.
- Confirm supports manufacturing is flanged up with the associated spools and isos and shipments have been arranged in a manner to assure delivery of both at site concurrently to the extent possible
