Senior Contracts Administrator - Australia
A well - known tier 1 contractor is looking for a Senior Contracts Administrator to be project based and on a rotation period on a major power transmission project.
This role is primarily accountable for the efficient and effective management of project related commercial and contractual matters within the business unit
This includes the active day-to-day administration of the head contract and any subcontracts placed on projects
Successful project delivery will be contingent upon the Contracts Administrator's active leadership and participation in the key areas of Project Planning, Project Delivery, Subcontractor Management, Risk Management, Project Reporting and Project Close out
Experience:
* Minimum - Degree level qualification in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying
* Experience in head contract claims for variations & extensions of time, notices of delay or prescribed notices.
* Demonstrated ability in proactively build relationships with key stakeholders and develop new business opportunities
* Ability to review and develop new processes and streamline transactional activities Project planning, organisational and time management
* Team focused
* Preparation of operational budgets and review financial information
* Experience in researching and understanding complex information to develop and implement business solutions
* Considerable experience (in the use of quantity surveying software applications such as Cost X, Jobpack, Candy or Timberline.
* Support and work in accordance with Commercial Operating Model to drive governance of all processes and procedures
* Implement corrective measures to address negative variances to budget/project scope
* Provide advice on contractual claims and progress payments/variations
* Draft conditions and qualifications to reduce risk
* Contribute to the preparation of tenders in accordance with company procedures
* Liaise with Senior Operational Leadership and clients in coordination and solving of design, constructability issues
Skills & Knowledge:
* Strong organisational skills and ability to meet competing deadlines
* Strong negotiation skills
* Ability to understand and interpret contract documents and drawings
Key working relationships internally include:
* Senior Management - collective responsibility to implement and contribute to the development of business plans
* Business Unit Managers - Provide services and support to achieve objectives
* Specialist Advisors and consultants - Advice, consultation and technical support to enable successful project/business outcome and delivery
* Quality Assurance - collaboration to ensure compliance with DEW policies/procedures and statutory responsibilities
Key working relationships externally include:
* Regulatory Agencies - Project Advice, business development, support and consultation, ensure project compliance and to represent the company
* Customer/Clients - Maintain effective relationships to manage client expectations
