Financial Analyst / South East London

The client a major Oil and Gas Operations company are looking to add a Financial Analyst to their team working from their London offices. The role will be a permanent staff based position offering a strong salary and associated package as well as the chance to work for a major Oil & Gas operator. 

This role provides the individual with a great opportunity to work as part of the Europe Commercial Finance Team.

Primary responsibility of the role is F&PA reporting which requires the individual to work closely with the Gas and Crude Trading teams to understand trading strategies. Alongside this, the role is heavily involved in the preparation of UK statutory accounts and associated audit work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly Gas and Crude Trading performance results
• Prepare monthly Gas Trading storage accounting entries
• Communicate monthly Crude Trading activity to the Norway Finance team and provide analysis needed for explaining their monthly variance
• Prepare and issue monthly performance packs for Gas and Crude Trading
• Provide support for daily Gas Trading P&L reporting and position control
• Assist in preparing yearly budget and forecasts
• Assist in preparation of UK statutory accounts for all UK entities
• Participate in Finance efficiency projects
• Provide support and backup to other Finance team members

Competency Requirements

• Degree educated, preferable an Accounting / Business/ Economics degree
• Qualified in professional Accounting qualification
• SAP knowledge preferable
• Proficiency in utilizing MS Excel and other Office 365 software.
• Numeric and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Interpersonal skills to work and communicate well with other members of the Finance Team and across Commercial group at various levels.
