Contract: VMware Administrator / Kazakhstan

Location: Tengiz 28/28

- Configures, manages, and maintains the physical and virtual infrastructures. 
- Maintains the integrity, security and compliance of the SAN/NAS storage environment. 
- Designs, documents, tests, and implements virtual services and devices. 
- Acts as a technical lead for major initiatives, changes, and deployments, and handle the diagnosis of complex issues within the virtual and storage environments. 
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures. 
- Site visits to field to administer and troubleshoot hardware as required 
- Detects, identifies, and performs complex problem isolation and resolution throughout the virtual architecture. 
- Ensures backup systems are operational, optimized and functioning per design. 
- Assesses and evaluates the current virtual computing infrastructure and provides recommendations for enhancements. 
- Develops, maintains, and implements a proactive capacity planning model to support business decisions. 
- Develops and executes contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages. 
- Mentor PCN Automation staff on VMware, NetApp and Backup technologies. 
 
Education: University degree related to Computer Science or Engineering 
 
English level: Intermediate (minimum) 
 
Experience: Minimum 7 years in the Information Technology field 
 
Required Technical Skills: 
VMWare Administration 
- Installation, configuration, troubleshooting 
- vSAN 
- Switching, Routing network design and maintenance for VM’s 
- Updating, Patching 
- Security Hardening 
- Acronis Virtual Backup Appliances 

NetApp Administration 
- Design, Installation, configuration, troubleshooting 
- Storage Virtual Machines with CIFS and NFS 
- Updating, Patching 
- NetApp SnapMirror 
- Securing NetApp in compliance with company and industry standards. 

Windows Administration 
- Acronis Backup and Recovery 
- Windows server 2016 administration 
- Windows server installation, configuration, troubleshooting 
- Comfortable with Active Directory / DNS / GPO 
- Antivirus 
- Patching 
 
Preferred Technical Skills: 
- Scripting using PowerShell 
- Storage knowledge 
- Acronis Knowledge 
- Good working knowledge of the TCP/IP stack 
 
Desirable Skills or Training: 
- Microsoft, VMWare, or NetApp certificates 
- Knowledge of VMWare vSAN Stretched Cluster 
- Familiarity with the Dell FX2 platform.
