The client a major Oil & Gas operator are looking to add a Mechanical Project Engineer to work from their Teesside based operations.
The role will be a long term contract based role inside IR35. It will offer an excellent hourly rate and the opportunity to work for a industry leading employer. To be considered for this role, candidates must have existing right to work in the UK.
Reporting to the Programmes & Shutdowns Team Leader working within a small team of engineering professionals, the candidate will be responsible for the development and on-time execution of a portfolio of multi-discipline projects (predominantly Mechanical biased), from definition through to front-end engineering, HAZOP, Detailed Design, Construction and Commissioning.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Develop initial technical specifications
• Actively participate in safety and design and construction reviews
• Prepare scope of works and participate in bid analysis
• Development of cost estimates and programmes, incorporating vendor estimates and schedules
• Provide overall Project Management and liaise as necessary with those affected by the project as required
• Project managing and controlling any modifications / changes through the management of change process, in compliance with site standards and current legislation
• Analyse problems and provide technical input to support the development and execution of multi-discipline projects with a technical expertise towards mechanical (piping, rotating equipment, static vessels plus fire equipment) discipline
• Responsible for Project cost control, schedule attainment, forecasting and ensuring that the work is effectively delivered
• Contribute to risks reviews and risk assessments
• Attend FAT’s and provide quality assurance for construction activities
• Initiate and monitor site construction activities.
Competency Requirements
? Degree educated in relevant Engineering Discipline (preferably chartered status)
? Strong project engineering and technical background in Mechanical and Piping disciplines
? Demonstrable experience of managing and delivering small to medium scaled multidisciplined projects
? Experience of jetty overhauls and/or upgrades would be beneficial
? Knowledge & experience of complex lifts would also be beneficial
? Extensive Engineering & Maintenance experience Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical or other regulated industry
? Demonstrable understanding of other engineering disciplines such as Instrument, Electrical, Civil, Asset Integrity and Rotating
? Familiarity with relevant legislative requirements, CDM, Temporary Works, ATEX, Electricity at Work Regs etc
