Senior Network, Voice & Security (Services) Engineer / Aberdeen

The Oil&Gas client is looking for Senior Network, Voice & Security (Services) Engineer on a staff basis. Aberdeen based.

Purpose of Role:

• The Senior Network, Voice & Security Services Engineer is responsible for the leadership, management, and delivery of network and voice services with aim to consistently meet current and future requirements of the business
• The role supports business objectives by providing safe, secure, and reliable IS network to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of IS services while adhering to cyber security requirements and principles.
• The role is responsible for the creation and maintenance of both operational and security related documentation (incl. processes, procedures, design & configuration, and operating manuals)
• The role ensures that the appropriate teams and 3rd party vendors protect the integrity and performance of the Client network and voice infrastructure
• Additionally, the role supports the Network and Voice Technical Lead to define the resilience and disaster recovery strategies
• Key requirement of the role is to work with the Network and Voice Technical Lead to improve ways of working, demonstrated by results such as the level of reliability and security of network and voice services


MAE/MATTE and HSE Critical Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Client HSEQ procedures

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence Level:

• Inputs and adds to the execution of the IS strategy and roadmap, develops relevant functional objectives for the area
• Works with the Network & Voice Technical Lead and supply chain to support IS operations sourcing strategy and partner relationship management in decision making and planning
• Supports the Network & Voice Technical Lead with development of the annual IS operations budget from a network, voice and security perspective
• Provides input for the Network & Voice Technical Lead to develop workforce plans that ensure IS operations can supply skilled resources to meet current and future demand across the enterprise
• Manages a comprehensive and integrated ITSM landscape and associated service levels, based on best-practice processes, disciplines, and related toolsets
• Is responsible for the on-going security, performance, stability, maintenance and monitoring of network and voice services
• Works with the IS Security Cyber Operations team to ensure IS security tooling is fully deployed and operational across the whole estate with appropriate governance, reporting and KPIs established
• Adheres to enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics
• Ensures the adoption of (and commitment towards) service improvements
• Ensures the development of asset inventories within the organisation's ecosystem
• Follows the formal governance mechanism to establish and monitor effective controls for the processes and functions performed by IS operations teams.
• Drives development activity either via the product lines, COEs or project frameworks
• Responsible for ensuring IS operational capabilities achieve regulatory and statutory compliance requirements
• May be required to provide out of hours support via an on-call rota

• Experience of leading teams, with the ability to communicate the IS operations objectives and motivate staff
• Strong Industry, domain-specific knowledge of the enterprise and its business units
• Experience of developing and implementing process improvements
• Self-motivated, pro-active and creative with a willingness to go the extra mile to achieve important goals
• Clear analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure with both internal and external parties
• Competent in budget planning and financial management
• Experience of delivering governance practices to track and measure the quality of services, and maintain service improvement plans
• Strong third-party management skills, working closely with sourcing and vendor managers driving solutions and decision making on products and services
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to the IS workforce
• Strong experience of global network and voice support – WAN, LAN VOIP etc
• Proven security and cyber experience in the Network sector
• Previous experience of working with a diverse and multi-vendor support model
• Experience and knowledge of cloud infrastructure services including tooling and security
• ITIL qualification (foundation at a minimum or similar demonstrated experience)
