• Support the Site Team by providing timely and accurate progress and planning related processes, control systems and reporting.
• In conjunction with the System Completions team, lead in continued development and maintenance of the overall system completions plan.
• Ensure use of the project WBS, schedule hierarchy, approved Project Controls procedures and P6 software to create well-structured schedule reports.
• Build effective relationships, (internal and external), with others such as other Area Planners/Analysts, Cost, Contract Advisors and Construction reps & System owners.
• Review and approve contractor schedules, validating activity durations, schedule logic, quantities, resource loading and other schedule parameters.
• Lead regular schedule review meetings with the project team and contractors
• Integrate contractor schedules into the owner master schedule; position is critical to interface with construction teams on sub-system schedule criticality.
• Generate weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for the system completions team and Project Management related to progress, schedule and productivity.
• Maintain sight of critical path(s), communicate such to the team; provide analysis where schedule or resource pressure is building; recommend possible work-arounds.
• Assess schedule trends and ensure Contractor correctly highlights such trends and corrective measures as necessary in periodic reports.
• Review Contractor reports and ensure correct progress reporting and highlighting of significant issues/concerns.
• Highlight significant events or concerns for Site management attention.
• Perform or guide schedule risk analysis
• Ensure documents are organized in such a manner as others may easily reference historical data for lessons learned or IPA Project Evaluations
• Mentor younger planning team members and assist them in setting their goals and objectives for career growth
• Other duties and ad-hoc requests as directed by the Planning Manager or System Completions Manager.
Education: College degree
Work Experience:
• Minimum 15 years Oil/Gas or Petrochemical capital projects experience, with at least 10 years onsite system completions experience.
• System Completions Planning or Commissioning Background
• Experience working for major International Oil Company or Engineering / Construction company
• Demonstrated performance in detailed pre-commissioning / commissioning schedule development
• Demonstrated performance in facilitation of red-zone / planning type of meetings
Language Skills: Proficient in English
PC Skills: Advanced / expert P6 user. Strong user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
