Site Estimator 

SUMMARY:  The Site Estimator provides estimating support to the Kings Mountain, New Johnsonville and Silver Peak project sites.  This position is responsible for complying with estimating procedures when developing project estimates. The individual may participate in identifying estimating improvement techniques. In this role, the individual acts autonomously on estimating projects. Prepares, reviews, and presents estimates. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

  • Develop the estimate plan and coordinate estimate development with the project team, including preparation of the Estimate Schedule
  • Provide high-quality estimates in a timely manner, in which the information is reconcilable to source data
  • Be fully familiar with the use and purpose of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS); utilize assigned WBS in developing estimates
  • Prepares and presents services cost estimates.
  • Works with other disciplines and functions to collect all necessary data on scope and quantities to prepare an accurate estimate in services-related areas.
  • Perform analysis on functional input.
  • Participates in establishing pricing structures to be applied to services for estimates. Ensures that estimate is in line with market trends and pricing.
  • Manages variations and changes to base estimate and ensures that implications of changes are evaluated before finalizing the solution.
  • Allocates indirect costs and fees to owner pay items when required.
  • Performs escalation calculations for services estimates of complex jobs.
  • Develop or assist in the development of Home Office and Construction estimates
  • Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
  • Travel Required: 25%
Education/Qualification Requirements

  • At least 10+ years in capital works project control role
  • Engineering or business degree/diploma preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
