Contract: Lead Mechanical / Design Engineer (Open Water Installation Riser Systems) / Aberdeen

Based in Aberdeen, you will join the team on an initial 6 month contract basis and we are looking for an individual to start around June / July time.

Some key responsibilities are detailed below:

• Interpreting customer technical specifications, organising and leading the design reviews ensuring that all customer requirements, technical risks and past lessons learned are properly capture 
• Understanding and applying design for manufacture principles for turning, machining, drilling, milling and welding processes to ensure designs are suitable and allow for efficient manufacture and assembly 
• Creating work packs for delegation, review & release detail drawings, test procedures, calculation packages and installation manuals 
• Undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to: Tolerance studies, design reliability, design for manufacture, simple failure analysis, design reviews, calculation packages for 3rd party verification purposes 
• Implement project & product cost control

Desired skillset:

• Prior knowledge of Open Water Riser Systems / Subsea Christmas Tree systems
• Prior knowledge of relevant industry specifications (API, ISO, NORSOK, NACE)
