Contract: Field Engineer Junior / Calgary

The valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking a Field Engineer (Junior) to join their team on a long-term contract basis.

Description:

Act as the representative of the project/operational Engineering Team in the field. The Field Engineers are the liaison with the Construction and Project Management teams and also with the supporting groups including Pipeline Engineering, the third-party engineering service provider, Land, Environment, Supply Chain and Operations in order to facilitate engineering management during construction and commissioning.

Field Engineer is a Professional Engineer registered in the Province they will be working in.
 

About the role:

• Engineering Management of Change during construction and commissioning activities which includes workflow between engineering RFIs, DCNs, construction readiness, scope changes/additions and design optimization by interfacing with project engineering, engineering service providers, and Prime contractors.
• This follows the appropriate Field Engineering Change Procedure (example CGL4703-CGP-ENG-PRO-0005); Collaborate and provide engineering support to project stakeholders (Land, Environment, Regulatory, Operations) as field liaison during construction and commissioning;
• Act as the representative of the Engineer of Record for MoTI road crossings as deputized by the ESP;
• Gather information from field teams to support project engineering requirements (technical review of CORNs, schedule, cost control, materials management);
• Work with the Field Quality team to ensure engineering designs are properly implemented in the field and technically support resolution of non-conformances generated during construction and commissioning
• Review hydrostatic testing documentation (review and develop hydrotest calculations) and support the field team during hydrotesting including creation of LTO package.
• Review and validate the as-built redlines provided by the Prime Contractor.
• Provide engineering solutions that lead to effective monitoring, assessment and management of construction hazards on pipeline assets, with consideration given for the safety and quality of the solution and life cycle costs for the program.
