As the Design Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering  high-end retail projects working across 1 or 2 projects at any one time and have the opportunity to showcase your creativity & skillset, while also rounding out your knowledge base through real exposure to the entire design and construction process.

In this role, you will be reporting to our Group Design Manager to collaboratively ensure projects are profitable, delivered on time and built to the business standard.

What you will do doing:
  • Managing consultant & supplier relationships, understanding their commercial interests, and communicating to all parties how the design will be delivered
  • Tendering, awarding and leading a project consultant design team, overseeing the work of other specialists, tracking their progress and steering the direction, ensuring co-ordination and ironing out any potential issues to best facilitate the project
  • Leading all project meetings, design managing project requirements, budget and program focusing on delivering high-end quality retail fitout’s
  • Leading specific coordination workshops to resolve the complexities of projects
  • On-site representation overseeing the design & construction, reporting to the Group Design Manager
  • Undertake routine retail showroom inspections nationally
  • Design & manage smaller scale projects internally where required
Experience required:
  • Experience in managing a project from the early design phase through to construction documentation, as well as experience leading consultants, value engineering to produce excellent outcomes
  • Strong understanding of D&C delivery projects
  • Degree qualified in Interior Design/Architecture
  • Ability to negotiate outcomes and manage expectations across multiple Stakeholder groups
  • Strong track record managing budgets, schedule and quality
  • Ability to read technical drawings and foresee design and construction complications and cost savings
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and individual milestones whilst supporting teamwork
