IT Technician
The client, a major oil and gas company, are currently looking for an IT Technician to join their team!
9 Month Contract – Wytch Farm
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to be an integral part of a multi-skilled team working at our Wytch Farm Oil Field near Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset.
You will have responsibility for providing IT Support Services within the Wytch Farm IT team, using the company helpdesk system (for which training will be provided).
This is a full time position working on a Monday to Friday basis.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Work to objectives set by the IT Manager
• Comply with Company IT standards and security guidelines.
• Proactively use and monitor the Helpdesk logging system.
• Analyse and rectify identified problems in a professional, timely manner.
• Interface and provide feedback when solving problems/requests.
• Provide a professional and polite service to the customer.
• Work closely with team members when solving complex problems.
• Be aware of data security at all times and pro-actively seek to resolve issues as they arise, as a priority, including the escalation and mitigation of risks to services
Key Requirements Include:
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
• Experience of Windows 1011 Operating Systems.
• Experience of MS Office 365, particularly Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Exchange
• Experience of supporting single user applications in a network environment.
• An understanding of Local Area Networking infrastructure, including telecoms, Ethernet, TCP/IP.
• To take responsibility for Health & Safety and Data Security within the remit of this role, communicating concerns in a timely manner.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
• Background of working with a helpdesk logging system.
• Strong interpersonal and customer facing skills.
• Ability to investigate hardware issues (desktops, laptops, printers)
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, but able to communicate with line management on a regular basis.
