The valued client is seeking an Intermediate Land Administrator for a yearlong contract located in Calgary, AB.
The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Land Projects & Pipe Integrity, and will ensure that documentation is produced accurately and in a timely manner according to project schedules, applicable corporate policies, and legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Day to-day planning and execution of Project land scope, in alignment with Project goals.
- Identifying land requirements and potential risks on the Project, acquisitions, or business, while mitigating or escalating risk appropriately.
- Maintain current, accurate and appropriate lines of communication with all stakeholders, including internal and external audiences.
- Support acquisition of surface land rights relating to the Project.
- Prepare and review acquisition documents and third-party requests/agreements to ensure compliance with legislation, regulation, and company policies and practices.
- Prepare, issue, track, and input documents for the Project, including land system updating.
- Ensure all payments are made in keeping with contractual obligations.
- Track landowner commitments and delegate as appropriate within prescribed systems.
- Knowledge of surface land acquisition (Crown and freehold) and land registry practices in British Columbia
- Understanding of industry construction & operations practices
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements as they relate to the administration of surface land rights
- Excellent analytical and interpretive skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills using sound judgment and an aptitude for research
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to participate effectively in a dynamic project environment
- Pleasant and professional manner with a strong customer service focus
- Keen interest in delivering results in a timely and efficient manner
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Surface Land, particularly on capital pipeline and facility projects
- Land Administration qualification, such as the Petroleum Land Administration Certificate
- Post-secondary university education considered an asset
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with land systems
