Daily pay rate: approx $600 per day inclusive of 10.5% super (negotiable) 

 

Role Description

The Training & Competency Coordinator is responsible for managing the delivery of training across Perth Basin Operations, as well as the mapping, fulfillment and monitoring of competency needs. Cross functional support for other groups working alongside operations is expected when requested.

While initial focus is targeted at ensuring a competent workforce in the Operations organization, accountabilities will broaden to eventually encompass all functions.

Roles and Responsibilities

(Include but are not limited to the following):

  • Coordinate the development of a skills training matrix for all positions on the operations org chart.
  • Map role-based competency needs including technical, operational, safety and leadership.
  • Support the development of inhouse and e-learning training modules that deliver on the client competency strategy, including assessment instruments to monitor ongoing training and competency needs which mirror the strategic direction of our client.
  • Identify, detail and drive the sourcing of third party training including vendor engagement.
  • Facilitate periodic reviews and updates of training packages and requirements.
  • Track and report on overall competency and training.
  • Monitor minimum site competency requirements and notify management of any compliance concerns.
  • In tandem with SME’s, quality check and audit inhouse competency assessments to ensure that the required level of evidence can be demonstrated.
  • System administrator for LMS and associated e-learning software.
  • Where required, undertake review of contractor or tenderer training and competency programs.
Qualifications / Experience / Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering in a similar role.
  • Qualifications in training development to at least Cert IV level.
  • Experience in development of e-learning modules using SCORM software.
  • Strong exposure to safe operating principals and HSE systems.
  • Ability to manage small projects with minimal supervision
  • Preferable exposure to oil & gas production facilities.
  • Sound organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management and influencing without authority.
  • High level proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with desired outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a team and with limited supervision.
  • Experience with INX database software for HSE and compliance tracking is preferable.
  • Qualifications in Assessing and Auditing desirable.

  • Except for an approved maintenance or repair procedure, must not interfere with, remove, displace or make ineffective any safeguard, safety device, equipment or appliance provided for HSE purposes.
  • Fulfil Emergency Response roles including participating in emergency response training and exercises as required.
