Contract: Business System Analyst / Calgary

The client, a large Oil & Gas midstream company, is currently seeking a Business System Analyst (Specialist) - Program Mgt - IS, based out of Calgary AB. This is a long-term contract role, with possible extension, subject to start mid/end July and end Dec 31, 2023. The schedule is Mon – Friday, 8 hrs, 40 hrs weekly. The office schedule right now is working 3 days office and optional 2 days work remote from home. 

DESCRIPTION:

• Identify the key stakeholders and liaise with them to get the exact requirements or expectations from the system
• Conducts/facilitates user requirements sessions, documents assumptions and constraints
• Eliminate the requirement conflicts between different stakeholders.
• Document all the functional and technical requirements, processes i.e., AS-IS and TO-BE, etc
• Develop prototypes to demonstrate the TO-BE system, processes, and behavior.
• Identify the risks, system gaps, and opportunities to improve the overall system and processes.
• Get the business and stakeholders approval (upon requirements walkthrough) on the final documents and aligned with the technical team as well
• Set the requirements priority and aligned with stakeholders and delivery team.
• Builds and maintains relationships with the project business stakeholders and team members
• Makes decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex issues and without formal guidelines or precedents and exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity to interpret policy
• Involved in highly complex matters and business systems processes that have impact for the organization and that involve Senior Management strategic decisions.
• Responsible for project communications in following areas
•  Gather the clear requirements
• Update the stakeholders on the progress o Avoid any conflicts in advance
• Received and act on the feedback
• Aligned with business expectations

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ Years experience as Business Analyst
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills in dealing with colleagues, the management team, and external partners
• A keen eye for detail that helps efficiently detect and solve problems
• Analytical thinking skills
• Effective time management skills
• Ability to build strong client and business relationships
• Prior experience working with ServiceNow BCM implementation (nice to have)
