Estimating Manager / Australia

The Role
  
The Senior Estimator/Manager is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and pricing of new and existing products and the successful operation of estimating systems. The position is also responsible for negotiating direct contracts on all built form suppliers, contactors and sub-contractors and to ensure optimum process services and quality are achieved. 

This Builder/Developer is very established and reputable across Northern New South Wales. They have a mix of residential subdivision projects and commercial projects that they are working on, with a focus on multi-dwelling housing developments. 
  
Duties include:

• Oversee and work alongside a small team
• Analyze tender submissions and prepare documentation to suppliers
• Maintain preferred suppliers agreements
• Review and prepare supply rates with bill of quantity structures
• Ensure that BOQs are prepared to a high level of accuracy and efficiently
• Ensure that the estimating formats and procedures deliver optimum performance in terms of speed and accuracy
• Prepare cost estimates for acquisition feasibility and other strategic purposes
• Negotiate with suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors in a legal and ethical manner in line with Company policies and procedures
• Monitor and appraise performance of suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors continually for consideration in future allocation/work agreement decisions

Skills & experience
  
Ideally you will have experience in a similar role, within volume medium-density housing and commercial projects. Sound knowledge of the residential and commercial construction industry and understanding of the relevant construction methodology is required.
  
Your negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills must be well-developed.
