POSITION PURPOSE:
Contract Specialist is responsible for formation and Administration of construction contracts for the Geismar Expansion. Possesses a proven ability to meet deadlines. This is a contract position based in the field office in Geismar, Louisiana.

Provide Contract Administrative Support:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: business/legal degree or equivalent job-related experience preferred
Experience Required: 5 - 10 years contract administration work experience preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide Contract Administrative Support:
- Development and adherence of contracting processes and procedures
- Model Contract Forms & Exhibits
- Development of Contracting Plans/Strategies
- Contracting Procedures
- Coordinates with Construction/Project Controls/Engineering to ensure Technical and Constructability details are obtained for inclusion in Contract Packages
- Development and Administration of all prime contract packages.
- Development and Administration of all construction contracts
- Develop contracts and support negotiations for contractual executions
- Coordinate with legal group to ensure company liabilities, legal/contractual obligations are defined, communicated, executed and correctly reported
- Provides contract management support
- Schedule and hold pre-bid meetings and job walk as required for specific SOW or Service
- Process RFQ clarifications and exceptions to T&Cs received from contractor
- Bid opening witnessing, bid tabulation and CBE preparation and award recommendation
- Coordinating preparation of the TBE by the responsible entity
- Preparation of the LOR and routing for approvals
- Conform the contract and route to contractor for signature
- Route to the appropriate level of authority within the client for signature
- Request issuance of the Contract within JDE for issuance to the Contractor
- Progress monitoring coordinated with Area Managers / Field Engineers
- Progress payment applications review and approvals
- Change Order Management
- Claims / Back-Charge Management / mitigation and dispute resolution
- Administer executed construction/general services contracts
- Hold kick off and scheduled Progress Review Meeting
- Process Field Directives (Request for Pricing) for increased SOW’s
- Process Contractor Requests for Change Order
- Identify and issue back charges for contractors
- Document contractual events
- Manage and coordinate contractual warranty issues
- Maintain audit ready files and documents
- Closeout of construction/general services contracts and prepare contractor evaluation
- Knowledge and experience in development and administration of construction contracts
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Present the client and self in a professional manner
- Be able to work independently or as a team player
- Perform other duties as assigned
