Wind Installation Technician (Onshore) - Poland - Wind
Summary
Wind Installation Technician is responsible for ensuring that manufactures wind turbines are constructed per approved procedures and are authorised to act in an advisory capacity to manufactures construction contractors to ensure proper installation for all components prior to wind turbine hand over to the commissioning lead.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform wind turbine installation tasks as assigned. This includes proficient operation and use of tools (including but not limited to specialised calibration, hydraulic, power tools) and basic wind turbine equipment. Documents tasks where required.
- Independently initiates and performs most work tasks as well as follows defined instructions and schedules, executing plans as directed and performs according to written and verbal instruction from higher level wind technical staff.
- Interpret the requirements of wind manuals, wind specifications, bulletins, wind work instructions, etc. and devise work plans including all required resources
- Field operational support for planned preventive wind maintenance programs of wind turbine generator systems.
- Proactively looks for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and procedures and communicates through appropriate channels.
- Liaise with Wind Installation manager
- Keep records, maintain wind documentation, and wind report as required by company policy
- Effectively gather information regarding wind turbine performance/issues. May diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions up to intermediate issues. Seek assistance when encountering wind turbine issues outside trained skill level to ensure success in resolution
- Deploy appropriate company health, wind safety, environment, and wind quality processes for the business utilising industry best practice.
- Wind farm inventory control to ensure business objectives are delivered effectively and efficiently
- Participate as a key wind team member promoting initiatives to improve Wind Turbine component performance whilst ensuring quality and functionality.
- Participate in continuous improvement process and implement all improvement activities which relate to area of responsibility.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must have at least 3 - 5 years of Wind turbines installation experience.
- Be able to operate tools, equipment, and instruments.
- Knowledge of Wind Towers installation.
- Knowledge of Wind Mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Experience of cleaning and lubricating on maintenance.
- All candidates most have full safety training certificates:
- Working at heights
- 1st Aid including CPR
- Fire awareness
- Manual Handling
- Medical Certificate for working at heights
Must be proficient in:
- Prep, locating, lifting and installation of major wind turbines components.
- Wind Rotor Assembly; Hub prep and staging, wind blade lifting, handling, and torquing.
- Wind Rotor Install, Prep and installation.
- Tower wiring and cable drop.
- Buss bar system prep and installation.
- Wind Generator Alignment.
- IIP procedure, LOTO and process.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment.
- Strong organisational skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Motor vehicle operation to and from turbines, shop, and multiple sites.
