On behalf of a major EPcM we are searching for a Biodiversity Expert to join them Dar es Salam on rotational bases.
This will be working on construction of a 1,500km heated pipeline.
There is 2 position available:
1 x Field based position on a 6/2 rotation (60 hours per week)
1 x Office based position on a 8/2 rotation (50 hours per week)
The Biodiversity Expert will report to the Environmental and Social Manager and will have the following responsibilities:

The Biodiversity Expert will report to the Environmental and Social Manager and will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance to the EPCm environmental team on all biodiversity related issues as applicable to the construction activity
- Provide inputs and or review the biodiversity management and/or action plans
- Monitors and inspects contractors’ day to day activities as pertain to biodiversity protection matters to ensure all are performed in accordance with all project applicable to permit conditions, biodiversity commitments and mitigation requirements
- Liaises daily with environmental coordinators. Effectively provides guidance, as required, regarding compliance requirements and corrective actions
- Liaises with the contractors’ environmental and biodiversity teams to build trusting and effective partnerships to facilitate the biodiversity protection activities.
- MSc in Biology, Ecology or related studies
- Extensive experince in undertaking the biodiversity work in accordance with the IFC PS requirements
- Previous biodiversity management experience in the construction industry is essential
- Knowledge of critical habitats in the East African context
