Systems and Safety Assurance Manager / Australia

The role 
You will become a key member of the Rail team of this global engineering consultancy, delivering System and Safety Assurance Engineering activities across major rail projects. In this role you will be working on light rail, metro and freight projects nationally based out of the Melbourne office. You will cover end to end SESA management and implementation on projects and develop the SESA team alongside the wider infrastructure business. 

• Work autonomously to deliver safety assurance planning throughout project lifecycles
• Elicitation, definition and analysis of client system safety requirements
• Lead design teams and clients through hazard identification and analysis
• Safety risk assessment and management (Qualitative & Quantitative approach)
• Management and ownership of Project Hazard Logs and Safety Risk Registers
• Development of safety cases, SFAIRP arguments and justifications
• Support and enhance wider rail team’s appreciation, knowledge and understanding of SESA requirements
• Work collaboratively on national and international projects

Minimum Requirements

• Significant safety requirement experience in the rail/metro environment
• Full understanding and application of DOORS Next Generation
• Application of Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) to construct safety arguments
• Hazard Identification (HAZID/HAZOP, FTA, FMECA)
• Hazard Analysis (PHA, SHA, SSHA, IHA, OSHA)
• Requirements capture verification and Validation
• Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Analysis
• Skills in safety related standards such as:
• AS/NZS 4801 Safety Management Systems
• ISO/IEC 61508 Functional Safety of EEPE Safety Related Systems
• EN 50126/8/9 Specification and demonstration of RAMS.
