Transmission Line Engineer Description Mesa seeks a Transmission Line Engineer to perform the engineering and design projects from inception to completion for T&D line projects from 4kV to 500kV. Develop system plan and profile, detail conductor and structural, phasing diagram, and interconnection detail. The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communications skills ability to engage internal and external clients and convey technical knowledge. * Experience with structure analysis, loading trees, and foundation types * Experience with conductor sizing for both underground and overhead. * Experience with underground line design is an advantage. * Proficient with PLS-CADD, POLE and TOWER for line routing and design * Proficient with MS Office, Google Earth, Advanced skills with MS Excel familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and Geographic Information System (GIS) * Experience in transmission line's system studies, overhead and underground. * Familiar with the power system, include generation, distribution and substation Educational Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university * Minimum of 3 years of experience in T-Line planning and design * PE license, is preferred Responsibilities * Delivering all Engineering packages as per project timelines and allocated budget * Perform feasibility and system studies/calculations/coordination and generate the T-Line design's specification, including Right of Way (ROW), Easement, EMF, environmental affect, geotechnical, traffic control, clearance (DOE, FAA, DOT etc.) * Prepare design criteria and specifications for the T-line design and procurement of materials, project cost estimating, and quality control reviews. * Coaching Transmission Line (T-Line) Designers * Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to develop efficient and reliable T-Line systems * Contribution to the development of T-line application documents to define the design scope, philosophies, methodologies and criteria for medium and high-voltage transmission line projects * Review and accept vendor submittals based upon conformity to and compliance with applicable technical specifications and industry standards * Provide construction support including resolving site queries through and RFI and/or submittal process, attending site meetings and performing site inspections during the construction phase of projects * Reporting the progress of the project to the Project Manager
