Contract: Project Manager / Perth

We are working with Australia's leading Tier 1 Iron Ore Miner to search for a Project Manager to be based from Perth, Western Australia.  This will be a Perth based role, Monday to Friday with ad hoc site travel.

Our client have committed to a dedicated Decarbonisation strategy to achieve net-zero emissions, there is a need to provide permanent power and supporting infrastructure to enable electrification of key mining equipment across their operations and as such, now have a need for a Project Manager to join the Asset Management and Utilities, Operational Projects team to support their Decarbonisation journey and lead a range of electrical infrastructure projects.

Key accountabilities include:

• Delivery and management of electrical projects, including

-Site distribution power infrastructure (powerlines, switchgear, transformers)
-Heavy Mobile Equipment battery charging & plug-in infrastructure
-Light and specialist mobile equipment battery charging infrastructure
-Electrification of existing fixed infrastructure assets

• Stakeholder management of internal and external stakeholders, including Operational Projects personnel and contractors, consultants.
• Drive schedule improvements to reduce delivery time-frames safely.
• Deliver cost and capital effective solutions to improve the project’s capital intensity whilst delivering the projects scope on time and within budget, safely.
• Provide effective and strategic reporting and communications of project performance on a regular basis
• Interpret and implement Engineering design discipline and specifications
• Identify opportunities to implement innovative solutions.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following:

• Extensive Project Management experience including the delivery of medium to large, complex and multi discipline projects ?10 years’ experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or other relevant industry experience
• Demonstrated experience with project budgeting and cost control and monthly forecasting
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple contractor groups
• Ability to successfully engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent interpersonal awareness with ability to lead and motivate teams
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
• Results driven, responsible and accountable
• Ability to manage under pressure and adapt quickly to change
• Great problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in the mining industry across power distribution, non-process infrastructure and/or HME assets would be well regarded.
• Perth based.
