The valued client is seeking a MERN Stack Developer in Calgary, AB. This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday. Work from home/hybrid options available.
About the Role
The MERN Stack Developer will be responsible for the development, testing and deployment of Company software. This will include maintaining back-end infrastructure to support related applications and operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and software building. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy and attention to details as well as attention to security are essential qualities for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Full-stack development of a MERN based SAS application.
- Utilize a DevOps methodology to enable continuous software development, testing and deployment.
- Manage and deploy the project using GitLab and VPS infrastructure.
- Set up unit testing framework.
- Maintain existing Java based application.
- Maintain excellent communication with co-workers, hardware and technical support personnel and management.
- Support clients through testing.
- Strong hands-on experience in the latest version of Node JS and React JS.
- Experience in HTML5, CSS3, JS and related libraries / patterns (ANT, Redux, Saga).
- Experience in MongoDB.
- Experience in Java application development.
- Experience using GitLab and Git repositories.
- Experience using code development tools including: Visual Studio (Code), IntelliJ
- Experience in Apache Cassandra would be an asset.
- Experience in Xamarin would be an asset.
- Familiarity with D3.js would be an asset.
- Experience in following TDD methodology in software development.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Work may require occasional physical activity such as moving equipment and the physical setup of equipment. This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such a computers, phones, printers and fax machines.
