The client is currently recruiting for the position of Lead Development Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
* Focal point for Engineering and possibly Project Management for early stages of New Energy opportunities maturation up to hand over to the countries.
* Provide land based infrastructure, shipping, pipeline, subsea and topside engineering and planning input to New Energy organic and business development opportunities.
* Prepare and manage contractors / 3rd party scope of work, contractor evaluation and selection process or establishing and maintaining frame agreements with SCM as the case might be.
* Review, coordinate input and ensure delivery of key development deliverables e.g. Framing, Alternative Concepts assessments, PEP, BOD, Feasibility review, Budget etc and ensure consistency between and quality of these documents
* Define work programme and budgets and lead the preparation of required documents for the early phases of work and in preparation for hand-over to the execution teams in the relevant countries. This may include the identification of key long lead items and their lead times for integration into development plans.
* Co-ordinate peer reviews / assists and relevant check point reviews.
* Co-ordinate work with the New Energy commercial & origination, subsurface, production chemistry, flow assurance, drilling and project controls to generate technical, commercial and economic field development solutions.
* Coordinate the development, implementation, and overall planning activities of the relevant opportunities as per schedule and within budget.
* Assessing the economic impact of various development and operational strategies, both short and long term.
* Working with New Energy and Finance in the company's corporate capital budgeting process, including clear technical justification of capital projects to the Executive team.
* Ongoing investigation of the practical viability of emerging technologies as it relates to early evaluation of New Energy opportunities.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering with relevant years of Oil & Gas experience, including experience in a field development engineering role.
* Familiar with technical work as well as project cost estimating, schedules and development economics.
* Fluency in English (oral and written) essential
* Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills - ability to present results and issues, adjust to audience and influence on decisions
* Highly competent interpersonal and influencing skills to manage culturally diverse environments throughout organisational change.
* Experienced with and knowledgeable of formal project management and information management systems, including the principles and associated processes, practices, or tools.
* Proactive, delivery focused, can operate in a high paced environment and is adaptable to working in a transformative organisation.
