Medical Science Liaison (Aesthetics)

Location: Field-Based role within the New England area. Ideal locations would be Boston, MA., or Greenwich, CT.

Contract Length: Through mid-2023 (with possible extensions)

Pay Rate: $65-75/hr

Top 5 skills/requirements this person is required have:

  • Minimum 4 years post professional degree practice or relevant transferable.
  • Experience (clinical practice, academic research, regulatory/scientific)
  • Preferred minimum 3 years total of specific industry experience (pharma, device, etc.)
  • Knowledge of applicable pharmaceutical industry legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point and other software skills

Years of experience, education, and/or certification is required:

  • Minimum 4 years post professional degree practice or relevant transferable experience.
  • Prior MSL experience
  • Previous experience working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders/partners (i.e. medical affairs, commercial)

What is the environment that this person will be working in:

  • Remotely and in group settings in the field visiting Healthcare Professionals in-office and attending conferences.
  • Group settings attending team/department meetings.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for maintaining expenses within assigned budget parameters.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of activities.
  • The employee must conduct their work activities in compliance with all company-specific internal requirements and with all applicable regulatory requirements. Company internal requirements include compliance with ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, and general business policies, requirements and objectives.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers and researchers in assigned area of medical aesthetics to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on company products.
  • Upon request, present data on company products to healthcare professionals including physicians, academic institutions, researchers, and other health care professionals.
  • Support research initiatives as requested by company R&D, Clinical Operations, and Medical Affairs Departments.
  • Serve as internal medical and scientific resource to assigned company therapeutic areas for development of disease-state and product communications and materials that are medically accurate, balanced, and consistent with regulatory guidelines.
  • Support clinical round table and advisory board sessions to ensure accuracy of scientific and clinical data.
  • Conducts on-going training to medical affairs, field sales and other internal personnel as directed.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers and researchers in medical aesthetics to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on company products.
  • Strong presentation, teaching, interpersonal, organizational, leadership and planning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Travel approximately 50-60% is required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years post professional degree practice or relevant transferable
  • Experience (clinical practice, academic research, regulatory/scientific)
  • Preferred minimum 3 years total of specific industry experience (pharma, device, etc.)
  • Knowledge of applicable pharmaceutical industry legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point and other software skills

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to learn and convey medical information effectively.
  • Works individually in a remote environment.
  • Works collaboratively with other review team members.
