HSE Specialist

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety (HSE) Specialist to join the global Oil and Gas Clients HSE team. The role will report to the workforce H&S Manager, although day to day instruction and supervision will be through the BWI and WHS HSE Managers and teams. This role will be predominantly on equal time roster, for most of the time being site or field based, with interim period so of Perth based activities as required. The role will evolve with work scopes and is currently anticipated to be 50% Gorgon and 50% Wheatstone based and will work as assigned.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing leave cover for site Health & Safety or Health & Safety/Emergency Management roles
  • Working closely with the Gorgon and Wheatstone IOC roles, in supporting Gorgon and Wheatstone site HSE activities
  • Supporting ABU turnaround, maintenance, or dangerous goods HSE activities as required
  • Executing site HSE audits, inspections or field safeguard assurance activities as assigned.
  • Working closely with the Process Safety, HSE Planning & Performance, Safety Services and Produce Environment teams as required.
  • Working across the updated Management System with a focus on serious incident prevention efforts and Human and Organisational Performance
  • Leading and/or supporting asset and functional HSE projects from time to time
  • Supporting incident investigation, including participating in, or facilitating approved Incident investigation methodologies (e.g., 5-Whys, SAFE, Y-tree and Learning Teams) as required
  • Supporting HAZIDs, including participating in or facilitating as appropriate
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Qualifications in Health & Safety or Emergency Management
  • 5 to 10+ years’ experience in health & safety, ideally with at least 3 years site based in the oil and gas / liquefied natural gas industry
  • Required to be ‘site active’ with frequent site assignments to execute work scopes.
  • Valid TBOSIET and MSIC required
