The client is currently recruiting for the position of Head of Projects & Engineering, based in Aberdeen.
Must have the Right to Work in the UK
Responsibilities:
* Overall accountable for all projects successful delivery in the company, CAPEX (Brownfield/Greenfield, Operated/OBO), ABEX, 3rd Party business) in HSEQ, Schedule, Delivery
* Promote and develop HSEQ Culture within Engineering & Projects Community
* Accountable for Department Governance, Assurance and Risks.
* Promote Lessons Learned and develop Engineering & Projects Organizational Process Assets to capitalize the company's knowledge
* Promote Engineering & Projects Contractors & Main Vendors the company's Strategical Positioning
* Promote Engineering & Projects Process, Tools and Methodology enhancement.
* Ensure that Engineering & Projects is compliant with the company's Policies, Procedures and Practices.
o Promote Career Development for the Engineering & Projects Community within its perimeter and detect and promote talents for the wider organization.
o Accountable for the development and mentoring of the UK Projects & Engineering team
o Accountable for identification of talent and all Projects & Engineering team succession planning
o Fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the company by maintaining quality standards and displaying an openness and willingness to act on improvements.
o Champions diversity focused on the company's group
o Creates new networks and connections at the most senior levels within and outside of the company.
o Strategic input into UK region overarching strategy with respect to future projects, business development and merger & acquisition opportunities.
o Accountable for the G&A budget setting and expenditure for the Projects & Engineering team ca. $5-6 MM per annum.
o Accountable for the UK Project and Engineering Department Annual Budget ~ £50-100MM.o
* Interface with the UK LT, Managing Director and team.
* Engagement with Contractors & Main Vendors
Experience & Qualifications:
* Relevant university degree. In special cases, relevant work experience may compensate for limited formal education.
* Extensive experience in the oil and gas sector in a Projects & Engineering setting required
* Experience from development and execution of major projects in an company
* Excellent knowledge of rules and regulations of the UKCS,
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders
* Strong HSE leadership skills
* Applies robust commercial awareness and business acumen to enhance the company's performance.
* Focusses attention on and prioritises overall the company's results and targets, adding value and effectively managing costs. Performs efficiently under time pressure
* A self-starter - identifying issues, opportunities and working through to completion using initiative and drawing on insight and others' inputs
* Inspires trust and sets high expectations for others in what they do and how they behave
* Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills
* A strong sense of the company's values; walking the talk and continuing to emphasise the importance of them in shaping the working environment
* Strong analytical capability
