The client a Global Oil and Gas Operator in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Piping Designer to join them for a 18-month contract.
The Designer is required to support the Technical Projects department. The majority of the work will be modelling of works as required in order to support the Brownfield development of LNG plants and supporting facilities across all project phases (concept select to detail design) and inclusion in workpacks for implementation.
Applicants are required to work with minimum supervision on small projects and produce all the necessary deliverables associated with the assigned work.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Update PDMS models to incorporate design changes.
- Produce or Update Piping Isometrics Drawings for all area scopes.
- Produce or Update Pipe supports Drawings and indexes
- Provide MTO’s for materials associated with model updates.
- General modelling and detailing duties.
- Update GA Drawings via PDMS Draft.
- Checking and approving drawings from time to time
- Provide valuable inputs of layout optimization during concept select phase and framing sessions
- Provide Owner Assurance input during design review, constructability review, and deliverable reviews
- Support Turnaround Technical Queries Resolution, provide piping design trouble shooting expertise (On the run design options, etc)
- Provide piping design expertise input during concept select
- Work with Digital Asset Team and panel contractors to support resolution of as-building legacy issues
- On rare occasion may be required to be on site to conduct surveys in support of the scope of works.
- The ability to work within a small team (Piping Group) and minimum supervision.
- Minimum 10 years’ working experience with Oil & Gas industry required, with significant Brownfield experience is highly regarded
- 3 to 5 years minimum experience with LNG experience being highly regarded.
- Previous work experience with Oil &Gas construction/operations phase highly regarded.
- Previous demonstrable experience in PDMS Piping modelling is required.
- Working knowledge of Oil & Gas specifications and materials
- Appreciation of Human Performance/Safety in Design
- Appreciation of Minimum Functionality Objectives (MFO)
- Good Communication and Team Working/Collaboration Skill is required
- A demonstrable competency in Micro station v8, PDMS 3D Piping/ Equipment
- Modelling, PDMS Draft and MDS are preferred skills. Navis Works and or Aveva review is also preferable.
