Lead Mechanical Technician / Australia

We are looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Technician to join our clients growing team working at their state-of-the-art biomedical manufacturing facility in Melbourne. This facility will be the only manufacturing facility of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and will also produce unique products important to Australia's public health.
  
Role & Responsibilities

• Helping with mechanical requirements during commissioning and qualification stage
• Helping project engineers
• Fix / correct break down of any equipment during commissioning and qualification stage
• Assist with developing systems and processes
• Revising strategy
• Developing procedures
• Assist in the designs, development and implements the maintenance systems and processes, for mechanical equipment.
• Assist in a spares review, contributing to the overall spare part strategy at site.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) for maintenance work required at site.
• SAP Plant Maintenance experience is beneficial. Must have a good skill level in relation to technology and its use in the maintenance field.
• Lead the mechanical technician team (2x) to conduct maintenance work on site during the capital phase of the project.

  
  
Skills and Experience:  Must haves:

• Trade qualification – mechanical fitter
• Leadership experience as person will be leading a team of 1 person indirectly in first 3-4 months
• 5-10yrs as a mechanical technician / fitter

  
Nice to haves:

• SAP experience
• Good computer skills
• Appreciation for different kinds of technology in maintenance field (new emerging tech, preventative technology eg vibration monitoring, understanding of preventative controls)
