The valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking a Cost Estimator to join their Calgary team on a contract basis.
Summary:
The Cost Estimator is a project services position working to support successful delivery of clients Projects. The Estimator will have primary responsibility to manage all cost estimation efforts in conjunction with the EPCM Contractor.
The role will be based in Calgary at the EPCM contractor’s office supporting engineering, design and procurement.

The Cost Estimator is a project services position working to support successful delivery of clients Projects. The Estimator will have primary responsibility to manage all cost estimation efforts in conjunction with the EPCM Contractor.
The role will be based in Calgary at the EPCM contractor’s office supporting engineering, design and procurement.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide assurance to cost estimates to support evaluation and assessment for the Strategic projects through the various phases for the required GATE reviews
- Validation of cost estimates to support tender evaluation exercises for the various projects
- Support procurement processes by validating inputs (i.e., quantities, rates) used for development of the tender documents
- Support Contracts and Procurement teams to identify requirements for specific contract arrangements including framework agreements
- Developing and updating benchmarking database to provide assurance to inputs and data received from Contractors
- Identifying proposal specific risks cost and opportunities for the portfolio. Assessing actions and mitigations required
- Championing cost competitiveness objectives within the teams (internal and contractors)
- Review and accept cost ‘Class’ estimates as presented by Contractors (EPCM and others) to feed into Decision Support Packages (DSP) and Cost Plan models
Qualifications:
- 8+years’ experience in Cost Estimation in the Oil and Gas Industry
- Experience with the use of cost estimation systems and/or database
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools
- Prior Major Capital Project experience through design, construction, and commissioning
- Strong self-starter who can work without close supervision
