The valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking a Reliability Engineer to join their Calgary team on a long-term contract basis.
About the role:
The engineer / technologist will be accountable for the development and implementation of Reliability standards, processes, and tools, as well as collaborating with the asset-based teams to actively manage the preventive maintenance program and optimize it to maximize reliability, efficiency, and safety.

In addition to taking initiative, this role has a high level of accountability, is deliverables focused and adapts quickly to changing priorities.

The role shall have experience scoping, planning, and executing Reliability improvement projects and developing, working with or implementing maintenance or operational integrity management system standards and processes.

The individual must have the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts, field-based maintenance & operations leadership and front-line personnel

Experience facilitating conversations with cross functional teams to achieve alignment and managing change through large stakeholders is required.

Responsibilities:
• Lead or support equipment Criticality Analysis and gap closure.
• Support data collection and closure of functional location/equipment hierarchy gaps according to data standards
• Utilize Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) tools and processes to develop risk-based asset management strategies for new facilities and/or major expansions.
• Analyze existing maintenance strategies and KPI’s to determine opportunity for improvements and support or lead gap closure.
• Provide expertise to support or lead closure of site-specific Preventive maintenance programs gaps.
• Provide expertise in development of Equipment Bill of Materials and identifying critical & operating spare inventory.
• Lead equipment hierarchy and asset data development from small & large projects
• Support Process Safety Critical equipment identification and develops Maintenance Programs in alignment with SCE Performance Standards.
• Support maintenance work planning, scheduling and execution improvement initiatives
• Support the development of job aids and training materials to enhance knowledge and utilization of SAP PM Module.
• Support the development and reporting of M&R KPI’s and dashboards including maintaining master data in an accurate and timely manner to ensure validity of the KPI’s.
• Support the development of standards and processes that set the minimum requirements for Canadian Thermal & Conventional Heavy Oil (CHO) maintenance, reliability, and turnarounds.

• Equipment Bill of Materials and recommended inventory levels

Qualifications:

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist registered or eligible for registration with APEGA or ASET, as applicable.
• 15+ years Engineering and/or Maintenance & Reliability Experience in Oil and Gas
• Experience in large facility operating environments, preferably upstream Thermal (SAGD) facilities, and ideally working in or directly with maintenance and operations teams.
• Knowledge and experience with safe work practices in oil and gas production accompanied by a superior safety attitude.
• 10+ years’ experience in Maintenance Management system and process development and implementation
• Familiarity with industry standards related to equipment reliability, safety, and risk management
• Knowledge in failure investigation and root cause determination
• Strong knowledge of SAP PM module
• Change management experience in managing change through large stakeholder groups
