Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or in a related field.
- Must have an international certificate related to safety such as OSHA, NEPOSH, or equivalent.
- Must have Ten (10) years of related safety/operational experience and/or training, preferably in the oil/gas or petrochemical industry. Have an offshore oil/gas experience.
- Should have strong knowledge and training in the following (all or some ); risk management, risk assessments (HAZOP, PHA, HAZID, JSA…etc.), occupational health and safety compliance with applicable industry, governmental and/or international standards.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of delivering hands on health, safety and environmental aspects. Skills of coordinating, developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety programs are highly recommended.
- Should have an in depth knowledge of health, safety and environmental fields standards, concepts, practices, and procedures .
- Are able to lead and direct teams and /or committees. Skills of training, reporting, presenting and software usage are recommended.
Key Responsibilities
- You are required to perform the following:
- Provide advice and consultation to department staff (maintenance, operation and contractors…etc.) to maintain safe working environment in compliance with environmental, safety regulations, standards, GIs, procedures and practices.
- Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices and analyze injury, incident, property damage and work with management to prepare comprehensive recommendations.
- Develop safety procedures such as Task Risk Assessments or Job Safety Analysis for the area as needed and monitor department safety KPI & performance and place required actions to enhance.
- Prepare Safe Management Committee meetings, safety orientations training, awareness and job site inspection procedures.
- Review the department Safety Management Systems (SMS) and improve it as needed. In addition, review new projects design packages to ensure compliance to the safety requirements.
- Manage and coordinate offshore emergency preparedness plans, drills and exercises, assess and report performance. Provide emergency team support, leadership and training and participate as required.
