Job Title:* Project Director - EPC Oil and Gas
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Project Director to oversee the early civil works phase of oil and gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion. They will collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineering teams, subcontractors, and clients, to ensure that project objectives are met safely, efficiently, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, in alignment with company objectives and client requirements.
2. Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers, subcontractors, and support staff to ensure the successful execution of early civil works projects.
3. Monitor project progress and performance against established milestones, budgets, and quality standards, and take corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
4. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders to provide regular updates on project status, issues, and resolutions.
5. Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and resources required for project activities.
6. Oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices on the project site to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
7. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving measures to optimize project delivery and maximize profitability.
8. Prepare regular progress reports, financial forecasts, and other project-related documentation for management and clients.
9. Manage contractual agreements, change orders, and claims in collaboration with the legal and commercial teams.
10. Foster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project team to drive excellence and achieve project goals.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in project management, specifically in the oil and gas industry with a focus on early civil works.
3. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and project management best practices.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
5. Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
6. Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and ERP systems.
7. Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards applicable to oil and gas construction projects.
8. Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks and issues.
9. Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze financial data, prepare budgets, and manage project finances effectively.
10. Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and relevant industry certifications are a plus.
Location: Potential travel to project sites as required.
