The client is looking for a Business Partner, Health, Safety & Security to lead these critical business aspects at our operational sites. In this role, you will lead a team of professionals responsible for Safety Governance, Safety Strategy development, Occupational Health and Hygiene, Emergency and Security services. As a key member of the operational leadership team, the successful individual will collaborate with their peers both within the company. They will work as part of the COMPANY operational senior leadership team and work closely with COMPANY's Chief Operating Officer to support the safe delivery of our business goals. This role will be based at either our Labrador City, NL or Sept Iles, QC sites with occasional business travel required.

This role provides an opportunity to be a leading and influencing member of the operational senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the VP HSE for the Minerals division you will be accountable for managing and implementing health, safety and security initiatives and programs, as well as:

  • Leading Company's Health, Safety and security functions at both sites
  • Drive health and safety performance through collaboration with operational leaders
  • Liaising with RT HSE teams
  • Collaborating with site leadership on health and safety planning and performance including various initiatives and strategies to improve overall health and safety performance
  • Fostering of leadership skills and behaviours within the team and across the organisation
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders on a variety of issues relative to employee, community and government engagement, reputation and sustainability

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Proven track record in Health & Safety performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and people engagement skills
  • Degree/ diploma in Health or Safety discipline or other significant relevant combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial health, safety, security or operational experience
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Champion for change

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Bilingual (French/ English) will be considered an asset.
