Construction Manager
Location: San Antonio, TX
Schedule: Standard 10-day fortnight
The construction manager will be required to lead and supervise roustabout crews, PSV and safety system testing crews, weed maintenance crews, crane operations, gas lift/wellhead compression commissioning, rod lift/pumping unit installations/maintenance, and general day to day field-level production activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide constructability input during front-end engineering to ensure safe, efficient designs with minimum impact on operations and to ensure realistic fabrication and installation schedules
- Assist in the identification, selection and contracting of all resources required for the execution and management of construction activities
- Establish rigorous processes for execution, monitoring and reporting of all work against established safety, cost, schedule and performance measures;
- Identify key risks to delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation or contingency plans are in place; - Lead all construction and support commissioning activities, including handover to operations;
- By risk management lead to provide inputs for construction risk response planning
- By project development manager to provide inputs for performance targets (construction duration, cost estimate, etc.)
- Provide construction input to the project lead during design

- Endorse the final plan, then execute against it, monitor and intervene as required
- Provide challenge to any changes once design freeze has been executed and force all changes to be captured through the MoC process
- Use project baseline for look ahead planning during construction and intervene as required
- Execute the MoC process for any changes during construction
- Execute the Ops MoC process for any changes during construction
- Monitor and intervene with fabrication and construction contractors to meet established
- HSSE targets, project schedule, quality, and cost
- By PSCM for development of fabrication and construction contracts
- Provide selected contractors for fabrication and construction contracts to PSCM
- Review the PMAC report for construction activities per the agreed quantitative progress measurement plan and take necessary intervention as required
- Incorporate requirements of handover into construction activities and provide documentation to commissioning
- Ensure the proper construction QC has been executed according to the QA / QC plan
- Ensure construction contractor performance and relationship management is executed according to the plan established in the define stage
- Provide GOC documentation to the project lead
- Implement IM and CoW; - Provide input to capture lessons learned and enter them into the knowledge management / empirical databases / shared learning system at the conclusion of each stage of execute activity
- Coordinate the demobilization and placement of construction staff on new assignments.
Required Experience: To be considered for this role, applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Extensive experience in onshore oil and gas operations particularly around delivering field-level expertise with respect to day-to-day operations and construction/maintenance activities at on-shore oil and gas well pads.
- Experience with design-phase planning and construction
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this job
- Demonstrate high ethical conduct in areas of procurement, contracts, evaluation of contractors and all other areas associated with procurement
