Quarry Operations Manager / Oman

The client in Oman is looking for Quarry Operations Manager, should have Minimum 10 years’ experience in the mining or related industry with at least 5 Years of Management Experience

Job Role
The Quarry Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safety-first approach and driving continuous improvement in operations. The incumbent must possess good knowledge of processing and heavy equipment, including efficient handling of reactive and proactive maintenance. Proven ability to handle production, quality control, repairs, and maintenance within budgetary guidelines. Drive and instill a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
• Establish a culture of safety, promote a safe work environment, and ensure compliance with relevant safety, regulatory and environmental laws.
• Lead, monitor and control production efforts to continuously improve cost and operational efficiencies.
• Manage end-to-end quarry operations including but not limited to production, quality control, technical support, repairs & maintenance, drilling, and blasting.
• Examining the materials produced to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
• Monitoring and controlling all areas of the quarry to ensure extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standards, whilst maximizing shareholder value creation.
• Inspecting and assessing company assets on a regular basis to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and to minimize repairs and maintenance expenses by ensuring timely maintenance runs.
• Conducting regular inspections and assessments of company assets to minimize repairs and maintenance expenses, maximize asset life and productivity and ensure HSE compliance.
• Recommend CAPEX requirements based on appropriate techno-commercial feasibility assessment.
• Identify and resolve operational, production, and maintenance issues to prevent operational delays, minimize production downtime and cost impacts
• Manage annual budgets, KPIs, and P&L activity. Develop, manage, and achieve annual budget and monthly performance targets in line with annual budgets.
• Ensure quality systems, reporting frameworks, and performance monitoring and tracking capabilities are in place to support operational excellence.
• Assume ownership of people leadership of all direct reports to drive superior performance; support and coach team to achieve strategic objectives and KPIs.

Qualification & Experience
• DAPS / Quarrying Diploma / Level 4 SHE Qualification in Minerals Processing
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the mining or related industry with at least 5 Years of Management Experience as Quarry Operations Manager
• Strong hands-on working knowledge of aggregate production and related equipment, as well as an extensive understanding of operations & safety requirements for all applicable machinery and equipment.
• Must be able to analyze options by possessing strong leadership and decision-making skills, thereby making the best decision for the business.
